Richard joined the firm as a paralegal in 2025 and is currently working towards qualification as a solicitor. Having completed his law degree at Northumbria University, he is due to undertake the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) 1 while gaining qualifying work experience at DJMS. He is committed to supporting clients effectively throughout their cases, adopting a thorough and approachable manner, and is developing a strong reputation among colleagues and other legal professionals for his reliability and professionalism.

Prior to joining DJMS, Richard worked as a teacher, gaining experience in a demanding professional environment that required working closely with individuals and families, managing complex situations, and maintaining a high level of responsibility and care. This background underpins his strong client-focused approach, which he now applies in his legal work.

Richard is married with three children and two energetic dogs who enjoy long walks. Outside of work, he is a dedicated musician and has played guitar for many years. He performs in a blues covers band, regularly appearing at venues across the North East live music circuit.
